• The build quality is what you'd expect from Braun. The blade (on the full-sized Pitcher) is German-made and it chops ice, nuts, and vegetables like nothing. • The safety features on both the Pitcher and on the Smoothie2Go are outstanding, the accessories (Tamper and Smoothie2Go Bottle and Coupling Adapter) feel solid overall. • It self-cleans, it even has a program for that, but a couple of drops of soap, water to 1/4, press clean, then rinse and it's clean, works 100% of the time! • Braun offers a 5-Year warranty on this and it's good knowing they'll be in business to honor that warranty if something happens to your appliance, compared to the 5 Years given by the "Bargain Brands" which probably won't be around by then. • Powerful. Easily blended smoothies to a perfect consistency as well as very nicely mixed butter into a pie crust. • Digital controls. A number of automatic settings (smoothie, worked perfectly) along with your standard mix of manual and pulse. • Design. A mix of industrial and modern with the size shape and digital controls. Not a showpiece per se but it is handsome for what it is and definitely looks more impressive with the power on and controls lit up. • Mix effectiveness. The tri-lob design of the jug along with the design of the blade did a good job of ensuring even mixing. • 1600W of power. Nice and powerful when compared to the 800W to 1200W of your standard blender. • Metal spline coupling between motor and blades. As opposed to the hard rubber of cheaper designs. • Includes blender bottle with a dedicated blade and push-down tool. • Power cord stores in base. Sort of. It can be a bit of a hassle jamming it into the space but it’s there.

• The lid and the way it clips onto the jug with large plastic clips on 2 sides is kind of junky. Not a huge deal but does feel cheap when compared to the rest of the blender. • Tritan plastic jug instead of glass. A 2L glass jug would be pretty heavy and the plastic jug is durable and BPA-free so this could go either way in my opinion.
